11 Days Lemosho [OPTION: OVERNIGHT crater camp]

This non-technical Lemosho route allows for ample time to acclimatize to the summit on a scenic route with a once-in-a-lifetime optional opportunity to spend the night on the floor of the crater at 18,600 ft. At the crater you come up close and touch and play on the glaciers.

ACCLIMATIZATION/REST DAY

After a long international flight, rest day is essential. We spend day two acclimatizing in Arusha and immerse ourselves in the cultural activities. If day two falls on a market day, we have opportunity to mix with the local crowd. Or you can spend the rest of the day relaxing in the luxury hotel and get pampered.

Shopping Assistance

We understand that proper gear is essential to the success of summiting. With this in mind, we have a comprehensive Gear List that we provide to all our clients. We not only provide you with the Gear checklist but also assist you with shopping (personal shopping assistance if you are within the Los Angeles area) to ensure that you have the right gear. Shopping for gear can be a stressful activity. It is a service we offer with pride to our signed up clients.

Gear Check

Two months out we conduct gear check over FaceTime or at a signed up client volunteer who is willing to host (if the group is in Los Angeles area) where we take the time to have the entire group build camaraderie before the trip and make sure everyone has the right gear. During gear check we encourage all our participants to bring all the gear they will be bringing to Kilimanjaro - it’s a dry practice.

PreCondition Hikes

For those local in Los Angeles, I conduct frequent PreCondition hike activities to the many local popular trails such as Mt.Baldy, Echo Mtn, Inspiration Point at Echo Mtn and any other that members may suggest. These PreCondition hikes allows for the group to bond, get to know each other and form a support group during the conditioning and in Kilimanjaro when we start the climb.

Mount Kilimanjaro is the tallest mountain on the African continent and the highest free-standing mountain in the world. Kilimanjaro has three volcanic cones, Mawenzi, Shira and Kibo. Mawenzi and Shira are extinct but Kibo, the highest peak, is dormant and could erupt again.
Mt Kilimanjaro is made up of five distinct climate zones. (Cultivation, Forest, Heather, Moorland, Alpine Desert, Arctic zone).
Pole Pole (slow slow) is the name of the game during Kilimanjaro climb. For your success, take your time and take in the beautiful scenery to be assured of success.

Approximately 25,000 people attempt to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro annually. Approximately two thirds are successful. Altitude related problems is the most common reason climbers turn back.
Kilimanjaro is non-technical - It’s a hike and does not require any technical skills.
Kilimanjaro is one of the seven summits which is a popular goal for climbers and adventurists. The Seven summits are comprised of the highest mountains on each of the seven continents of the earth. Everest, Aconcagua, Denali, Kilimanjaro, Elbrus, Vinson Massif and Carstensz Pyramid.
